Journal of Tourism Analysis: Revista de Análisis Turístico (JTA) is a scientific journal of social sciences edited by Asociación Española de Expertos Científicos en Turismo (AECIT) since 2006. The aim of this journal is to contribute to the scientific knowledge on tourism from a holistic and multidisciplinary approach. The purpose of the journal is to be an Open Access forum for scientific exchange and knowledge transfer on tourism.

Aims & scope

JTA aims to be an Open Access forum for scientific exchange and knowledge transfer on tourism. The journal will publish 2 issues per annum and will include topics on but not limited to:

  • Understanding tourism from theoretical and conceptual contributions, methodological approach and empirical research.
  • Promoting studies with critical points of view and perspectives.
  • Publishing research from different academic disciplines applied to tourism: economy, marketing, company, geography, heritage, political, sociology, social-psychology, anthropology, law, technology, ecology, etc.
  • Disseminating multidisciplinary and holistic issues applied to tourism: environment, urbanism, culture, training, management, planning, image, sustainability, innovation, accessibility, sharing economy, social media, networks of actors in tourism, management of the on-line reputation, etc.
Identifying and deepening new lines of future research: smart destinations, sharing tourism, dark tourism, creative destinations, tourism decreasing, international terrorism in tourism destinations, climatic change, future scenarios, and other innovative topics yet to be discovered.

Peer review

JTA operates a double blind peer review model. All articles undergo an initial assessment by the journal editor. If they are considered suitable for peer review, articles will then be a reviewed by a minimum of two external reviewers to assess its suitability for publication. Final responsibility for editorial decisions rest with the journal editor.

All articles published in JTA are published Open Access under a CC BY 4.0 licence. For further information on licencing please see the author guidelines.

JTA is published by Emerald Group Publishing on behalf of the Asociación Española de Expertos Científicos en Turismo. JTA is owned by the Asociación Española de Expertos Científicos en Turismo. JTA is published under a platinum OA arrangement, in that all charges for publishing an OA article in JTA are funded by the Asociación Española de Expertos Científicos en Turismo. There is no charge to the author.
